If we had to pick out three adjectives to describe ourselves we’d say: journalistic, hardworking and friendly. Our Story

Shout! Communications was set up in 2003 by broadcast journalists who had worked in national radio and television at senior levels. That heritage sets the tone for the agency and, as a result, many of the extended team have come to us with broadcast journalism experience.

Founders Keren Haynes and Catherine Bayfield (top row below, at various stages in their career) worked in radio and television news and programming at senior levels, before moving into broadcast PR.

Keren finished her journalism career with a report on Radio 4’s Today programme. Before joining the BBC’s business journalist as a Senior Broadcast Journalist, she was a News Editor at ITN, has worked as a reporter at Sky News and also held jobs as a producer and news reader.

She worked abroad as a journalist for five years in the Middle and Far East before moving back to London.

Catherine’s credentials include working as a senior Output Producer at what was GMTV, the predecessor of ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

Before that she was Head of Planning at London Tonight and has produced broadcast stalwarts such as Richard Littlejohn on Sky News and Dr Hilary Jones on ITV.

The two founders met when they were training to be radio journalists, more years ago than either will admit to.

We understand what stories will appeal to broadcasters and how to package them in a way to ensure they make air. Needless to say, our contacts within the industry, are excellent.

We’re long established as broadcast PR specialists but we’ve also moved with the times. After nearly two decades of office leases in Covent Garden and Bloomsbury, we have embraced the virtual office. Instead of bricks and mortar, we have invested in state of the art, portable equipment.

Our pop-up radio studios can broadcast from anywhere and we offer similar technical support, when required, for television.

Like the national broadcasters who we are mirroring, we are flexible, nimble and cost-effective.
